President Dr Patrick Herminie has commended the quality of public service delivery on Praslin following recent official visit to government offices housed within the Pension Fund Building, expressing particular satisfaction with the quality of facilities and the level of organisation observed across the various institutions.
During the visit, the President met with senior officials and staff from a number of government agencies and public bodies operating under one roof. The engagements provided the President with a first-hand assessment of service delivery; operational challenges and the welfare of citizens being served across the island.
Speaking to the media following the tour, President Herminie described the visit as a highly positive experience, noting that services on Praslin are well organised and of a high standard. He observed that the consolidation of multiple government services within a single facility represented sound administrative practice and expressed the view that such a model merited consideration for replication on Mahé.
“The ministries are functioning well and in a good environment,” the President remarked, adding that the level of service reflected the needs of the island and its population. He further noted that several of the facilities, including the police stations and jetty, were newly established, reflecting continued investment in public infrastructure on Praslin.
President Herminie expressed overall satisfaction with what he described as a modern, well-equipped and efficiently managed public service environment, and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery for all Seychellois, including those residing on the outer islands.
