The Office of the President has today announced the appointment of Ms. Vesna Rakić as Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), effective 15th May 2026.
Ms. Rakić holds a BA (Hons) in Business Administration (Marketing) from London South Bank University and brings over three decades of experience in the tourism sector, with a career spanning destination marketing, product development, tourism systems strengthening, and entrepreneurship in Seychelles.
She served as Director and Senior Consultant at Sales & Marketing Seychelles Pty Ltd and previously held the positions of Head of Sales and Marketing at bookseychelles, Market Development Manager at Creole Holidays, and Marketing Manager at Travel Services Seychelles Ltd, including its portfolio entities such as Desroches Island Resort and Cat Cocos.
Ms. Rakić also maintains active involvement across the tourism sector through tourism operations and industry engagement and is a founding member of the Seychelles Small Hotels & Establishments Association (SSHEA).
Her professional experience reflects a strong track record in improving market access, strengthening distribution channels, supporting tourism innovation, and aligning stakeholders across the tourism value chain.
The Seychelles Tourism Board is responsible for leading the marketing and promotion of Seychelles as a premier and sustainable tourism destination. It develops and implements national marketing strategies, strengthens the Seychelles brand in key and emerging markets, and supports the development and diversification of tourism products.
The Board also works to enhance the overall visitor experience, build strong partnerships with local and international stakeholders, and promote sustainable growth across the tourism sector in line with national development priorities.
In her new role, Ms. Rakić will be responsible for advancing Seychelles’ global positioning, strengthening competitiveness in an evolving tourism landscape, and ensuring that the sector delivers greater economic returns while preserving the country’s unique environmental and cultural assets.
