President of the Republic of Seychelles, Dr Patrick Herminie, has expressed deep sadness at the passing of Terence Bijoux, popularly known by his stage name Smash Kid, a talented young Seychellois artist whose creativity and youthful energy resonated with many.

The President says that Smash Kid’s artistic expression reflected the voice and promise of a new generation, highlighting the importance of nurturing and protecting young talent within Seychelles’ creative and cultural spaces.

On behalf of the Government and the people of Seychelles, President Herminie extends his heartfelt condolences to the family of Terence Bijoux, his loved ones, fellow artists and the wider youth community. He encourages them to draw strength from the memories and impact left behind by a young artist whose journey was meaningful.

The President added that Seychelles mourns the loss of a young life taken too soon, a prominent artist who dedicated his talent to promoting Seychelles’ musical and cultural expression.
