This afternoon, the Office of the President, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, presented certificates and tokens of recognition to the top Secondary IGCSE high achievers from both state and private schools across Seychelles.

Each student received a certificate and a tablet from the Office of the President.

In his remarks, the Minister for Education noted that the Ministry has undertaken a close and honest review of student performance across all national and international examinations. He emphasized that the objective is not only to celebrate pass rates, but also to better understand what performance data reveals about the quality of learning taking place in classrooms. Overall, performance remains stable, with strong participation levels  and high pass rates across most examinations exceeding 90 percent  a positive indicator that the majority of students are remaining in school and successfully completing their education.

A total of 12 students from state secondary schools were recognised, representing the top three performers from each school, along with the top three performers from each private school. The three overall top-performing students were Slok Vithani (9A*), Selvesh Senthil (6A* and 2As), and Jasmin Constant (5A* and 5As). The ceremony was attended by the Vice President Mr. Sebastien Pillay, Principal Secretaries from the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, and other senior officials of the Ministry.
