"Vilaz Prosperite” Housing Estate at Belombre officially welcomes new residents

President Wavel Ramkalawan accompanied by Vice-President Ahmed Afif, yesterday attended the official opening of "Vilaz Prosperite" Housing Estate at Belombre.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of keys to the new residents and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque, declaring the estate officially opened by President Ramkalawan and the Minister for Lands and Housing (MLH), Mr. Billy Rangasamy.

The 16-unit project, which will provide accommodation for 16 families, consists of two housing blocks: Block A with eight three-bedroom units and Block B with eight two-bedroom units. The project, entirely financed by the government at a cost of just over 16 million Seychelles Rupees, showcases the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing for the people.

  
In his welcoming remarks, Minister Rangasamy expressed sincere satisfaction and recognition for the collective effort of all parties involved in realizing the project. The Minister emphasized the importance of living in a peaceful and harmonious environment. He urged the new residents to fight any social ills within their small community, aiming to establish a model village and aspire for prosperity, as implied by the new name “Vilaz Prosperite”.  The Minister encouraged the new residents and new applicants to continue their contributions to the Home Saving Scheme (HSS), highlighting the government ‘s dedication to expanding its efforts in delivering numerous additional housing projects.


During his address to the guests, Hon. Sandy Arrisol, the elected member of the National Assembly for the Belombre district, congratulated and thanked the new residents for their ongoing contributions, patience and dedication. Hon Arrisol expressed his gratitude to the government for completing the third housing project in the Belombre district over the past three years. He has also encouraged all new applicants to continue their contributions to the Home Saving Scheme (HSS). He urged the new residents of “Vilaz Prosperite” to live in peace, love, unity and tolerance towards one another.

The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Transport Mr. Antony Derjacques, the Minister of Education Dr. Justin Valentin, the Member of the National Assembly for Belombre, Hon. Sandy Arrisol, Principal Secretaries, District Administrators, MLH officials, new residents of the Vilaz Prosperite Estate and other invited guests.
