Message by President Wavel Ramkalawan to the Baháʼís of Seychelles for the celebration of Naw-Rúz (New Year)

On the occasion of the Baháʼí New Year, I am delighted to wish a Happy and prosperous Naw-Rúz to the Baháʼís Seychelles and Baháʼís all over the world.  This is your New Year, a feast of hospitality and rejoicing, a celebration that embodies the essence of renewal and rebirth, and which you are celebrating after observing 19-days of fasting in accordance with the Baháʼí calendar.

It is our hope that throughout the year the Baháʼís will continue partaking in meaningful conversations, which will be to the benefit of the generality of mankind. Such conversations, which revolve around common issues affecting society, aims to bring about unity of thought and vision and the will for society to work together in unity and harmony.

Your efforts towards the spiritual education of the younger generation have not gone unnoticed and we will surely support every effort made in this direction to ensure that we have an upcoming generation who conduct themselves in accordance with the spiritual teachings of their diverse faiths.

I pray for the spirit of brotherhood, and look toward the coming year with hope and optimism.”
