President Ramkalawan thanked the National Day Celebrations Committee for the successful events June 2022

Following the successful events to commemorate Seychelles’ Constitution Day, Independence Day, and National Day, the President of the Republic, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan hosted an appreciation ceremony this afternoon at State House for the members of the National Day Celebrations Committee June 2022.

On behalf of the country and on his personal behalf, President Ramkalawan conveyed his sincere gratitude to them for the contributions made as a member during this year’s National Day celebrations.

“All the National Day activities were well organized with landmarks of events on Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue. To note, it is the first time that the National Brass Band accompanied our Seychellois women and men in uniform to Praslin and La Digue. Your role as a member of the committee has without a doubt been instrumental in ensuring the events were well planned and wonderfully executed. Once again thank you for your dedication and service to the country. The people of Seychelles have greatly appreciated the outstanding work that you have done,” said the President.

During the ceremony, each member received a letter of appreciation from the Head of State.  For having served on the Committee for 28 years, Mr. Gerard Lafortune received a special token.

On his part, the Chairman of the National Day organising Committee Designated Minister Jean-François Ferrari said that he is very satisfied that as a team they have managed to deliver on their mandate.

“I wish to thank all the members for their hard work and commitment. Your organization had really chosen the best to put on the Committee and I was happy that you all took your responsibility seriously. We have managed to stay within the budget allocated to us and for that, I am very satisfied. I wish to also thank all those that have sponsored our events, and representatives of the private sector, we are indeed grateful. To the members, I will be calling on you again to deliver on other upcoming national celebrations, let us continue as a team,” said Designated Minister Ferrari.
