The President welcomes the Minister of State Affairs and the Saudi Royal Court Advisor of the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia

The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan received the Minister of State Affairs and the Saudi Royal Court Advisor of the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Ahmed A.A. Kattan, at State House yesterday morning.

The President welcomed Minister Kattan on his official visit to Seychelles and expressed his hope that it serves to further consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries to new heights, based on a shared vision and mutual aspirations.

For his part, H.E. Minister Kattan conveyed the personal greetings and message from His Highness King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the President. H.E Minister Kattan underlined his country’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Seychelles.

How Seychelles and Saudi Arabia could improve and enhance their bilateral ties was the center of discussions between the Head of State and H.E Minister Kattan, who welcomed the opportunity for the two countries to further boost their bilateral relations with concrete action, especially through a greater role in Seychelles’ socio-economic development. During the meeting, they also spoke about investment opportunities, where they underlined possibilities with mutually beneficial effects of investment for both countries.

Present at the meeting this morning was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, the Director General of Bilateral Affairs Division, Department of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Lindy Ernesta, and the First Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Wendy Isnard.

Other members of the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia included the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Mr. Khalid Abdallah Alsalman, Counsellor, Dr. Farhan Matoog S. Alfarhan, and Attaché, Mr. Rashed Mohsen M. Alfarzan.

Seychelles established diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia on 28th September 2000.
