President Wavel Ramkalawan will proceed on overseas mission to participate in the upcoming Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit 2022. During the mission, the President will attend the official opening ceremony on 17th January, the Zayed Sustainability Prize Award Ceremony as well other events on the sidelines of the summit.
The ADSW Summit provides a platform for global leaders to discuss the latest trends shaping the world’s sustainability agenda. It brings together heads of states, senior policymakers, CEOs, entrepreneurs and members of academia to identify pathways to accelerate global leadership, economic development and the implementation of the technologies and innovations needed to deliver the world’s climate and sustainability goals.
President Ramkalawan will be participating in the summit alongside other Heads of State including the President of South Korea, Moon Jae-in, the President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, the President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, President of Singapore, Halimah Yacob, the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian and President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández.
The President will depart on Sunday 16th January and resume office on Friday 21st January. He will be accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr Sylvestre Radegonde.
During President Ramkalawan’s absence from the country, his duties and responsibilities will be discharged by Vice-President Ahmed Afif.
