The President meets with Miss Seychelles 2020 after winning Miss Intercontinental Africa

President Wavel Ramkalawan received the reigning Miss Seychelles 2020, Kelly-Mary Anette at State House this morning. Ms Anette returned to Seychelles after winning the Miss Intercontinental Africa crown and also finished as the third runner-up overall at the 49th Miss Intercontinental pageant held at the Sunrise Grand Select Diamond Beach Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The President reiterated on his congratulatory message conveyed to Ms Anette and expressed how proud Seychelles is of her achievement. He thanked her for all the sacrifices she has made and for having the discipline to attain her goal and in the end fly high the Seychelles’ flag. The President shared words of encouragement and extended his full support to Ms Anette as she continues to spearhead the cause of her project – the Maylene’s Hope Foundation, which forms part of her 'Beauty with a purpose' project. 

“You had a dream and you remained determined all along to achieve it. Well done! Stay focused and true to yourself in all that you do. We are proud of you and once again congratulations on your big win. Seychelles is proud” said President Ramkalawan.

Speaking to the media after the courtesy call on the President, Ms Anette said that there is much work ahead to be done through her foundation both locally and on the international front which is aimed at empowering, providing emotional and psychological support to semi-orphans and orphans. With the support of the patron of her foundation, the First Lady Mrs Linda Ramkalawan and all the other support she is receiving for her project she believes that it will remain a long-term legacy created well after she leaves her crown as Miss Seychelles 2020.
