President Ramkalawan receives delegation of Pan-African Parliamentarians

President Wavel Ramkalawan welcomed a delegation of the Pan-African Parliamentarians yesterday morning at State House. Lead by Hon. Jacqueline Amongin the delegates present are also members of Uganda Parliament.

The courtesy call was an opportunity for Parliamentarians to formally present their congratulations to President Ramkalawan upon being elected as President of the Republic of Seychelles in October 2020.  Hon. Amongin, on behalf of the delegation expressed how honoured they were to be received by the highest office in the country and able to hold discussions with the President, as a former head of delegation of the Pan-African Parliament during his tenure as the former Leader of the Opposition.

Among some of the points of discussion included enlisting Seychelles’ support for the candidature of Hon. Bangira Anifa kawooya contesting for the Vice-Presidency of the Eastern Region for Pan-African Parliament, the way forward for PAP administration and leadership as well as current political landscape in Uganda and Seychelles.

The members of the Pan African Parliament included the head of delegation Hon Amongin Jacqueline, Hon Bangira Anifa kawooya, Hon Kakooza James, Hon Isiagi Patrick, the Clerk, Ms Barbara Nabitaka and Protocol Officer, Mrs Arinaitwe Lydia.
