New Hungarian Ambassador to Seychelles accredited

The new Ambassador of Hungary to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Zsolt Mészàros, presented his credentials to President Wavel Ramkalawan this morning at State House. He was accompanied by Honorary Consul of Hungary in Seychelles, Mrs. Anna Butler-Payette.

The President welcomed H.E. Ambassador Mészàrosto Seychelles and congratulated him on his accreditation.

During discussions, President Ramkalawan highlighted that Seychelles and Hungary share a remarkable friendship since the establishment of diplomatic ties on 24th November 1977. He hope that it will continuously strengthened through the active engagements and collaborative efforts across different areas of mutual interest.

H.E. Ambassador Mészàros reciprocate the interests to move the diplomatic ties between Hungary and Seychelles to new heights and expressed his wish to have a Seychelles-Hungary business forum in the near future.

Besides the reviewing the scholarships programme between the two countries, the meeting was also an opportunity for the Head of State and the newly accredited Ambassador to discuss other future cooperation geared towards further strengthening relations in education, information technology, tourism, agriculture and fisheries.

Ambassador Zsolt Mészàros is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Also present this morning was the the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr Sylvestre Radegonde, the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr Marina Confait and Second Secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ryan Adeline.

After the accreditation ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Mészàros paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Ahmed Afif
