President Wavel Ramkalawan held the last meeting for this year with the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kishnan Labonte at State House this morning. Also present was the two Deputy Commissioners of Police, Mr Ted Barbe and Mr Romano Songor.
During the meeting they discussed national security matters and implementation of new measures put in place by Public Health Authority in view of recent developments of COVID-19 in the country.
The President expressed his concerns regarding the current situation of COVID-19 in the country and highlighted the importance for the Police Department to reinforce measures and in making sure that everyone is following the different guidelines as outlined by the Public Health (Infectious Diseases) Regulations orders in force until the 13th January 2021.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Romano Songor called on all Seychellois to take the situation very seriously and to adhere to all measures put in place, wear masks at all times including their Police officers and to avoid grouping but rather stay at home with close family.
