President Danny Faure welcomed Mauritian Minister for Housing and Land Use Planning, Hon. Louis Steven Obeegadoo, at State House this morning.
Minister Obeegadoo, currently on a private visit in Seychelles, availed of the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on President Faure and convey the greetings of the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Mr Pravind Jugnauth, as well as discuss boosting bilateral cooperation between the two island nations.
“Your visit to the Seychelles is another chance for our two countries to reinforce the long-standing friendship and further develop cooperation in the coming future. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Republic of Mauritius for the excellent cooperation and partnership with Seychelles throughout this year. We look forward to another year of fruitful engagements across different areas for the mutual benefits of our people,” said President Faure.
Areas for cooperation discussed include climate action and blue economy.
Seychelles and Mauritius established diplomatic relations on 17th July 1988.
