The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Seychelles, H.E. Mr Jabor Ali Hussain Al-Hawashela Al-Dosari, presented his credentials to President Danny Faure at State House this morning.
The President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and said that it signifies the renewed commitment of the Republic of Seychelles and the State of Qatar to further elevate collaboration to new heights.
The Head of State and Ambassador Jabor Al-Dosari discussed various areas of existing cooperation, such as investments and trade partnerships, and identified new avenues for further collaboration.
Speaking to the national media after the meeting, Ambassador Al-Dosari described relations between Qatar and Seychelles as excellent. He noted that during the meeting with President Faure, there was mutual interest to have embassies in their respective countries.
Seychelles and the State of Qatar established formal diplomatic relations on 7 April 1984 and Ambassador Al-Dosari is the fourth Ambassador of the State of Qatar to be accredited to the Republic of Seychelles. He is based in Kenya.
Also present at the meeting this morning was the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and The Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure, and Director General for International Relations at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Lindy Ernesta.
