The President of the Republic, Mr Danny Faure, received young Seychellois writer, Dr Salma Farook, at State House this morning following the publication of her motivational book entitled “What your Soul Already Knows.”

Dr Farook is a Medical Doctor by profession and has always been passionate about writing and believes words have the power to heal. During her meeting with President Faure she shared some of her life experiences and her sources of inspiration.

President Faure congratulated Dr Farook on her achievement and thanked her for making contribution that touches the lives of people and is also a source of inspiration for other young people.

Dr Farook took the opportunity to share with the President some of the community based work and her involvement in charity fund raising for Cancer Concern Association through the sale of her book. Additionally she briefed President Faure on ongoing discussions to share her book directly with youths in schools with the collaboration of private organisations and the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Dr Farook described her book as a motivational piece focusing on positive thinking and mental health, that shares the understanding that everyone possesses within them the will to persevere.
