UNSG visit cancelled

November 16 2012--The Ministry of Foreign Affairs regrets to inform that the planned visit of the United Nations Secretary General, H.E Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, to the region, and to Seychelles, will not be possible in this instance due to unforeseen circumstances.

The decision to cancel the visit was communicated to Seychelles Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Marie-Louise Potter, late last night. The UNSG has thanked Seychelles for the all the arrangements that were made to prepare this visit, and regrets that the cancellation had to be made at the last moment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would also like to express its thanks to all those involved in the preparation of the visit.

The Seychelles Government has also reiterated its invitation to the Secretary General to visit at a more convenient time.
