The charge d’affaires of Cuba in Seychelles, Mr Orlando Ernesto Alvarez Alvarez, yesterday called on President James A Michel at State House.

The Cuban chargé d’affaires pledged that his country would continue to maintain strong bonds of friendship with Seychelles.

He said he would maintain communication between the two countries and expected cooperation would not only be upheld but also improved in the areas of health and education, as well as the social and political spheres. 

Steady communication will help the peoples of both countries to better understand one another and help the two nations voice their concerns as small countries in the international arena.

Mr Alvarez is heading Cuba’s diplomatic mission in Seychelles until a new ambassador is appointed, following the completion of Mrs Maria Aida Nogales’ term earlier this month.
