President Extends Condolences Following US Diplomatic Mission Attack

Following the terrorist attack on the United States Consulate in Libya which resulted in the loss of life of four Diplomatic staff including that of the resident Ambassador, President James Michel has sent a letter of condolence to President Barack Obama condemning the attacks and extending the sympathies of the Seychellois nation.

The President offered his deepest sympathies to People of the United States, and in particular to the families of those affected, and pledged the support of the Seychelles Government and People in the continued fight against terrorism as a multifaceted effort.

“The fact that these attacks have taken place so close to the tragic anniversary of the 9/11 attacks further reminds us that terrorism knows no borders, nor boundaries, and that it is only through the determined efforts of all nations, that we shall be able to overcome the forces of intolerance,” said the President.
