The new ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Seychelles, Mr Shi Zhongjun, presented his credentials to President James A Michel at State House yesterday.

He described friendship between Seychelles and China as "very good".

Mr Shi Zhongjun, who replaces Mr Wang Weiguo, said his predecessor established many links between China and Seychelles, while President Michel's visit to China and meetings with the country's leaders have led to many agreements which he said he expects to have the pleasure of helping to implement.

On the same day the new ambassador called on Vice-President Danny Faure. Today he called on the National Assembly Speaker, Dr Patrick Herminie.
