The electoral commission, headed by its chairman, Mr Hendricks Gappy, yesterday handed a copy of a document, called a Roadmap to Electoral Review, to the Head of State at State House.
The review is part of the programme to undertake reform of the electoral process, to strengthen and consolidate democracy in Seychelles.
"I am happy to know that you are fast moving and the processes are in place to ensure the good participation by all concerned. It is important for all Seychellois to have ownership of whatever reform we put in place, through much consultation, just as I ensured ownership by all of the successful economic reform program, and look forward to the work that you will be engaged in, for the benefit of Seychelles," said President James Michel as he received a copy of the document.
The plan which will take approximately fifteen months to implement will involve both local and international expertise.
Copies of the document will be presented to representatives of political parties.
Mr Gappy said he would give details of the document after the distribution.
