As our Christian denominations and faithful observe the sacred season of Lent, and as the Holy Month of Ramadan begins, I extend my warmest greetings and sincere wishes to all who are engaged in these important periods of spiritual reflection and devotion.
Lent and Ramadan, though observed in different traditions, both represent profound moments of prayer, fasting, sacrifice, and renewal. They call upon the faithful to deepen their spirituality, strengthen their compassion for others, and reaffirm their commitment to peace, humility, and service.
To our Christian denominations and all faithful observing Lent, may this solemn season guide you in reflection, repentance, and renewal. May it strengthen your faith and prepare your hearts in hope and grace.
To the Muslim community in Seychelles, may this blessed month of Ramadan bring you peace, strength, and spiritual fulfilment. May your fasts, prayers, and good deeds be accepted, and may your homes and communities be filled with unity, generosity, and joy.
Seychelles is proud of its rich religious diversity and the harmony that defines our nation. These sacred seasons remind us of the shared values that unite us as Seychellois — compassion, solidarity, understanding, and mutual respect. In embracing these values, we continue to build a society rooted in peace and collective responsibility.
On behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Seychelles, and on my own behalf, I wish all observing Ramadan and Lent a blessed, peaceful, and spiritually enriching season.
