Cabinet approved Seychelles’ accession to the Establishment Agreement of the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA), a development-oriented investment platform of Afreximbank. The accession will provide eligible Seychelles businesses with potential access to additional financing for trade, investment, exports, industrialisation and economic development through FEDA’s various funding mechanisms, without requiring Seychelles to pay membership or accession fees.
Cabinet approved the Seychelles National Micro-credentials Policy Framework, 2026, aimed at strengthening lifelong learning, supporting workforce upskilling and reskilling, and enhancing the responsiveness of education and training to labour market needs. The framework establishes a national approach for the development, quality assurance, accreditation and recognition of micro-credentials, aligned with the Seychelles National Qualifications Framework. The Seychelles Qualifications Authority (SQA) will coordinate the phased implementation of the framework, scheduled to commence in early 2027.
Cabinet approved the adoption and implementation of the National Standards Framework for Formal Early Childhood Education – Crèche (Public and Private Preschool), aimed at strengthening the quality and consistency of crèche education across Seychelles. The Framework establishes 13 national standards covering health and safety, child protection and well-being, learning and teaching, staffing, leadership and management. It will provide a common reference for the delivery, monitoring and continuous improvement of both public and private crèche services, ensuring a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment for all children.
