The President of the Republic, Dr. Patrick Herminie, has today announced the appointment of three new members to serve on the National Unity Committee, effective 1st January, 2026.
The newly appointed members are;
Bishop Danny Elizabeth, representing the Seychelles Interfaith Council (SIFCO)
Dr. Odile Decomarmond, Chairperson of the Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (CEPS)
Ambassador Marie-Pierre Lloyd, member of the COMESA Committee of Elders.
These appointments reflect Government’s commitment to ensuring broad societal representation in the work of national unity, drawing on diverse perspectives from faith-based institutions, civil society, and experienced national leaders.
The National Unity Committee is chaired by Former President Danny Faure, who was appointed on 14th November, 2025.
The President expressed his confidence that the Committee has the capacity to work constructively with all stakeholders and institutions in advancing national unity, national reconciliation, and social cohesion. He reaffirmed Government’s full support for the Committee as it undertakes this important national responsibility.
The President further noted that the Chairperson of the successor entity to the TRNUC will be formally appointed to the National Unity Committee once the relevant Bill has been approved by the National Assembly, ensuring continuity and alignment between transitional justice processes and the broader national unity agenda.
