In the absence of President Danny Faure, the Vice President Vincent Meriton chaired a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet this morning at State House, which discussed a number of legal and policy memoranda.
Cabinet approved for the repeal of the Small Enterprise Promotion Agency Act (SENPA Act) to be replaced by a new Enterprise Seychelles Agency Bill, 2017. The new Bill will allow for the expansion of the Agency’s mandate to better support the micro, small and medium enterprises.
Cabinet approved for the reviewed Government of Seychelles Scholarship policy to be drafted into law.
Cabinet also approved the establishment of the Guy Morel Institute as a Body Corporate separate from the UniSey.
Cabinet approved the land use plan for zone 18 South of Providence Industrial Estate and the concept plan for the same site.
Cabinet also endorsed the Domaine de Val de Pres’ 2017-2021 Development Plan.
Cabinet was briefed on the completion of Phase 1 of the Seychelles Marine Spatial Plan and the Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust (SEYCCAT) funding announcements.
Cabinet approved Seychelles’ position with regards to the African Union Continental Free Trade Agreement. Negotiations will be undertaken by the Ministry of Finance, Trade and Economic Planning.
