Dr. Patrick Herminie, President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Seychelles Defence Forces, extends his highest commendation to the members of the Seychelles Defence Forces for their outstanding performance in the recent interception of a dhow vessel carrying a substantial quantity of suspected illicit narcotics.

This successful operation, executed through the coordinated efforts of the Seychelles Coast Guard, Air Force, and Special Operations personnel, stands as a testament to the professionalism, vigilance, and tactical excellence that define our armed forces.

Under the leadership of President Herminie, the Government has reinforced its national counter-narcotics strategy through a resolute “Search and Destroy” approach. This policy underscores the administration’s firm commitment to detect, intercept, and neutralize all trafficking operations within Seychelles’ maritime domain.

“The fight against drug trafficking remains a national priority,” President Herminie stated. “The scourge of narcotics threatens the moral and social fabric of our society, and this administration will not allow our territorial waters to be exploited for such criminal activities.”
