The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, on Thursday morning chaired a post-mortem meeting at State House with the CJSOI 2025 Local Organising Committee (LOC) and representatives from partner ministries and agencies. The session was convened to review the overall delivery of the 13th edition of the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI) Games, which Seychelles hosted from 1–11 August 2025.
The session aimed to assess key achievements, evaluate performance metrics, and identify prevailing challenges, with the overarching goal of establishing a pragmatic roadmap to enhance sports development and the effective delivery of major events in Seychelles.
In his opening remarks, President Ramkalawan thanked all institutions, sponsors, volunteers and the Seychellois public for their exceptional commitment, noting that the Games showcased Seychelles’ hospitality, organisational capability and the talent of our young athletes. “Our task now,” he said, “is to transform these lessons into lasting improvements for sport and for future events.”

President Ramkalawan commended the constructive spirit of the review and emphasised that the legacy of CJSOI 2025 must be measured by improved services for athletes, stronger institutions and increased participation in sport nationwide. He reaffirmed Government’s continued support to federations, coaches and young people pursuing excellence.
Overall, the President expressed his great satisfaction, describing the 13th CJSOI as one of the best editions ever organised. He underlined that Seychelles has set a new standard for the Games and stated that the nation is proud to have successfully hosted such a memorable and impactful event on Seychelles soil. On behalf of the people of Seychelles and in his personal capacity, he conveyed heartfelt appreciation to all those who supported and, in various ways, contributed to the successful staging of the Games.
