President Wavel Ramkalawan welcomed World Bank Country Director Ms. Idah Pswarayi-Riddihough and Resident Representative for Seychelles Mr. Boubacar Sid-Barry to State House today for a courtesy call. The President expressed his appreciation for the strong and productive partnership between Seychelles and the World Bank.
During their discussions, President Ramkalawan and Ms. Pswarayi-Riddihough reviewed Seychelles’ economic performance, addressing key challenges and opportunities for the country’s future development.
As she nears the end of her tenure as Country Director, Ms. Pswarayi-Riddihough conveyed her gratitude for the collaboration with Seychelles and reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to continued support. President Ramkalawan thanked her for her contributions and wished her success in her new role.
Speaking to the press, Ms. Pswarayi-Riddihough praised Seychelles’ climate resilience efforts, stating, "The Government of Seychelles has done exceedingly well in building resilience and reducing risk factors related to climate change."
Also present at the meeting were Vice President Ahmed Afif and Governor of the Central Bank of Seychelles, Ms. Caroline Abel.
