She honoured the dedication of healthcare workers, both past and present, and urged them to embrace innovation and strive for excellence in delivering care.
President Ramkalawan, addressing attendees, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering dedication of healthcare workers across all roles. Reflecting on the hospital’s historical significance, he announced the government’s commitment to building a new, state-of-the-art facility. It is fitting that in this centennial year, we have already taken the decision to build a new hospital that will take us into the next 100 years," he said.
The festivities included a health fair and an exhibition chronicling the hospital’s journey through the decades, showcasing major milestones and advancements in medical care. Cultural performances, including recitals and songs, underscored the hospital’s deep connection to the community.
The landmark event brought together government officials, including the Cabinet of Ministers and members of the National Assembly, alongside current and former healthcare workers, dignitaries, and members of the public.
