The fifth High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to the Republic of Seychelles accredited

The President of the Republic, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan received the credentials of the new High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Ms. Fatou Harerimana, during an accreditation ceremony held this morning at State House.

President Ramkalawan congratulated the new High Commissioner and underlined that her accreditation reflects the strong commitment between Seychelles and Rwanda to further cement their bilateral relations and elevate cooperation to new heights.

In this respect, the meeting that followed was an opportunity for the Head of State and the newly accredited High Commissioner to discuss the on-going memoranda of understanding (MoU) signed between Seychelles and Rwanda during the State Visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Rwanda Mr. Paul Kagame to Seychelles in June 2023. The MoU includes agreements in various sectors such as; health, agriculture, tourism, investment, defence and security, and visa waiver between the two countries.

Following the accreditation ceremony and her courtesy call on Vice-President Ahmed Afif, speaking to the press, High Commissioner Harerimana pointed out that all the agreements under the MoU are very important for her and expressed her wish for them to be materialise during her mandate.

H.E. Ms. Fatou Harerimana will be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. 

Also, present at the accreditation ceremony this morning was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivienne Fock-Tave, Director General Bilateral Affairs Division, Department of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Lindy Ernesta, and Second Secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Ingrid Labrosse.
