President Wavel Ramkalawan has today announced the appointment of Mr Derick Ally as the new Chief Executive Officer of L’Union Estate on La Digue.

Mr Ally studied biological sciences and pedagogy at the University of Auckland in New Zealand and started his career as a teacher on La Digue in 1991.

He has since occupied several positions which included Chief of Protocol, Director-General for Presidential Affairs and General Manager for Corporate Services at the Seychelles Pension Fund.

He has also worked in the Commonwealth Secretariat in London for nine years. He was appointed Ambassador of Seychelles in 2014 and has served four years as High Commissioner of Seychelles to the United Kingdom and Ambassador of Seychelles to several European countries. He has been working in the private sector since his return to Seychelles from London.

His appointment as CEO of L’Union Estate takes effect as from Monday 13 December 2021.
