Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Seychelles bids Farewell

The President of the Republic, Mr Wavel Ramkalawan received the outgoing Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E Ambassador Horie Ryoichi for a courtesy call at State House this morning.

The President welcomed Ambassador Ryoichi and expressed the country’s sincere appreciation of his efforts in further developing the relationship between Seychelles and Japan during his tenure.

“Today, in the year that we are commemorating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the relationship between Japan and Seychelles is even stronger. We look forward to continuing the excellent relationship with your successor. I would like to take this opportunity to also express our gratitude to H.E Ambassador Makoto Tominaga, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Japan based here in the Republic of Seychelles for all his support and enthusiasm in elevating the relationship between Seychelles and Japan,” said President Ramkalawan.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Ambassador Ryoichi expressed his honour of being received by the President and fruitful discussions on how to further enhance further the existing good bilateral relations. The Ambassador reaffirmed his government’s commitment in maintaining relations with Seychelles and continue expand cooperation such as to provide assistance particularly in the domain of medical and maritime security.
