The President holds discussions with representatives of the Nature Seychelles

President Wavel Ramkalawan, also welcomed members of Nature Seychelles at State House today.

The members presented President Ramkalawan with an overview of the work that Nature Seychelles has been doing in conservation of the environment and management as an international NGO. This includes looking after the Sanctuary at Roche Caiman, managing the Cousin Island Special Reserve, engaging local people in Port Glaud District to collect views on the management of the two marine protected areas - the Baie Ternay and Port Launay Marine National Parks among many other projects.

During the meeting they also expressed their interest to partner with the Government in the conservation of the environment and any other projects that links to improve the conservation of biodiversity through scientific, management, educational and training programmes.

The President reciprocated the idea and welcomed any proposal Nature Seychelles may have to assist the government in its development plan.

Present for the meeting at State House was Chairman of the Nature Seychelles Board, Mr. Antoine Marie Moustache, Chief Executive of Nature Seychelles, Dr. Nirmal Jivan Shah and Nature Seychelles Board Member, Ms. Ruby Pardiwalla.
