President Ramkalawan receives Seychellois High achiever Ms Hilary Baron at State House

President Wavel Ramkalawan personally conveyed his congratulations to Central Bank Seychelles (CBS) High Achievement Scholarship Recipient Ms Hilary Baron during a meeting held at State House yesterday morning. Ms Baron achieved a distinction in her Masters of Science (MSc) in Forensic Accounting course at the Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom.

"We are immensely proud of your achievements, you have not only made yourself and your family proud but also your country. So today I would like to personally congratulate you for your hard work. I feel encouraged to see many of our Seychellois nationals excelling in numerous fields and as role models to our youths I urge you to continue working hard for the betterment of the country,” said President Ramkalawan.

The meeting was also an opportunity for Ms Baron to brief the Head of State on her plans for the future and areas she feels she can make a contribution, particularly in the domain of Forensic Accounting, by sharing her knowledge, develop untapped areas and address key challenges for the betterment of the sector and the country.

Also present at State House this morning was the Governor of Central Bank, Ms Caroline Abel where the President seized the opportunity to thank the Central Bank Team as one of the strongest institutions in the country for establishing such a programme providing Seychellois professionals with a platform to further their studies.

Ms Baron is the first Guy Morel High Achievement Scholarship recipient to complete a university degree under this CBS programme and she also received the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Prize, awarded to the student who scores the highest overall marks in the MSc Forensic Accounting course.
