President Danny Faure has assented to the Elections (Amendment) Act and the Political Parties (Registration and Regulations) (Amendment) Act, 2020, which was passed by the National Assembly on 6th August 2020 and submitted to the President on the 12th August, 2020.

Amendments to these Acts were proposed by the Electoral Commission which was mandated by Article 116 of the Constitution to undertake electoral reforms in Seychelles. The main objective of the reforms was to review the electoral legal framework for the furtherance of democratic principles, effective representation and the creation of conditions that are conducive to fair electoral competition.
