President Faure meets with Law Enforcement Committee

President Danny Faure met with members of the Law Enforcement Committee at State House this morning.

The objective of the meeting was for the President to receive an update on the latest situation in the country regarding the heightened movement restrictions and measures announced to minimise the spread of COVID-19 in the community, which came into force at midnight today.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss immediate challenges observed so far, and how to strengthen the measures if required.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, the Attorney General, Mr Frank Ally stressed on the importance of members of the public to adhering to the orders in place issued by the Public Health Commissioner over the 21-day movement restriction period. He said this was critical to ensure Seychelles is able to contain the virus.

Present at State House for the meeting was the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kishnan Labonte, the Attorney General, Mr Frank Ally, the Principal Secretary in the Office of the Designated Minister, Ms Sheryl Vengadasamy, the two Assistant Police Commissioners, Mr Ted Barbe and Mr Romano Songor, and the Director General of the Seychelles Intelligence Service, Mr Benediste Hoareau.
