President Danny Faure received retired Italian Entrepreneur and outgoing Honorary Consul for Italy in Seychelles, Mr Claudio Izzi, for a farewell courtesy call this morning at State House.
Mr Izzi is a co-founder and formerly the Creative Director of Kreolor Seychelles, which at the time of inceptions in the 1990s was a joint venture between local and Italian investors. For his expertise as a talented goldsmith and successful entrepreneur for over 30 years in Seychelles, the President thanked Mr Izzi for his contributions to Seychelles and imparting his extensive knowledge to numerous Seychellois, many of whom are still working in the jewellery making industry.
“Thank you for your contributions, particularly your creativity. Your creations have touched and brought joy to many, uniquely fusing traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design inspired by our Seychelles’ islands. This will remain a legacy remembered by many generations to come,” said President Faure.
Mr Izzi has been the Honorary Consul for Italy in Seychelles for the past 15 years, a responsibility from which he will be retiring from as of December this year. The meeting was an opportunity for Mr Izzi to share fond memories of his time in Seychelles, over three decades in local business, experience in consular affairs as well as his plans for the future.
He was accompanied on his visit to State House by his wife, Mrs Susan Izzi.
