The new Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Dr Christian Fellner, presented his credentials to President Danny Faure this morning at State House.
The President welcomed Ambassador Fellner to Seychelles and congratulated him on his accreditation.
“It is an honour and a pleasure for me to receive you on this auspicious occasion. This reaffirms the strong importance our countries attach to our historical friendship and represents renewed commitments to continue on our path of strong bilateral cooperation,” said President Faure.
The meeting was an opportunity for the Head of State and the newly accredited Ambassador to discuss areas of future cooperation geared towards further strengthening relations in the form of exchanges in technical training and capacity building and sharing of experience in best practices in various domains. Other potential areas of cooperation such as environment, conservation, tourism, health and renewable energy were also discussed.
Following the accreditation ceremony, speaking to the press, Ambassador Fellner highlighted his commitment to enhancing cooperation in areas of common interest for Seychelles and Austria.
Seychelles and Austria established diplomatic relations on 12th January 1977.
