The Vice-President of the Republic, Mr Vincent Meriton will be absent from Seychelles from 19th to 26th October 2019. He will be in Japan attending the formal ceremonies for the enthronement of the new Emperor.
As already announced, the President of the Republic will also be on overseas mission during the whole of this period. In accordance with Article 56 and Article 75 (4) of the Constitution of the Republic, the Designated Minister, Mrs Macsuzy Mondon, will hold the portfolios falling under the President and the Vice‑President; she will also discharge any function that the President or the Vice-President is required to discharge under the Constitution, during their absence from the Republic.
