The new Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E Ambassador Pavel Mikeš, officially presented his credentials to the President of the Republic, Mr Danny Faure, at an accreditation ceremony at State House yesterday morning.
President Faure congratulated Ambassador Mikeš on his accreditation which he described as a strong symbol of the existing warm bilateral ties and solid friendship between Seychelles and the Czech Republic. The President expressed his hope that the foundation is strengthened through the broadening of collaboration in new areas of mutual interest for the two nations.
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to your predecessors for the firm friendship they have created and strengthened over the years. We reaffirm our commitment to working closely with you to build upon the good partnership we share. Seychelles aspires to strengthen and develop our bilateral ties in certain key areas like health, education, tourism, whilst also exploring new avenues for collaboration such as cyber security, culture and arts,” said the President.
Another area of potential cooperation highlighted through discussions between President Faure and Ambassador Mikeš was the sharing of specialised expertise in the domain of innovation, science and research through the Seychelles National Institute of Science Technology & Innovation (NISTI).
Speaking to members of the press after his meeting, the newly accredited Ambassador thanked the President for receiving him and reaffirmed his country’s commitment in enhancing bilateral relations between Seychelles and Czech Republic, with a focus on the specific areas outlined during discussions with President Faure.
