New High Commissioner of Canada to Seychelles Accredited

The new High Commissioner of Canada to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mrs Pamela O’Donnell, presented her credentials to President Danny Faure in a ceremony held at State House today.

President Faure congratulated the new High Commissioner and expressed his fervent hope that during High Commissioner O’Donnell’s tenure, both countries would continue to further cement the good relationship that they have enjoyed over the years. President Faure expressed his appreciation and gratitude on behalf of Seychelles for the continued support and assistance provided by Canada on both a bilateral and multilateral level.

During the meeting, High Commissioner O’Donnell pledged Canada’s full support to further enhancing cooperation ties with Seychelles at the multilateral level, and also committed to exploring new avenues of collaboration in sectors such as climate change, blue economy, and education. She commended Seychelles on its leadership role on the issue of piracy and maritime security.

Accredited as the third High Commissioner of Canada to Seychelles, Mrs Pamela O’Donnell is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Also present at the meeting this morning was the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and The Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure, Director General for International Relations at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Lindy Ernesta, and Third Secretary, Foreign Policy Division, Ms Trisha Hoareau.
