Courtesy Call by India’s new Joint Secretary for the Indian Ocean Region

President Danny Faure received India’s new Joint Secretary for the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), H.E Mr Dinesh K. Patnaik, at State House today.

The President congratulated him on his new appointment and said that he is confident that together, Seychelles and the Republic of India can work to further enhance their excellent bilateral cooperation.

Their discussions centred on the various projects and bilateral relations that Seychelles shares with the Republic of India, and avenues to consolidate the cooperation.

Speaking to the national media after the meeting, Mr Patnaik said that the Indian Government is working closely with the Government of Seychelles to make sure that projects are implemented that benefit the people of the country and improve their quality of life, such as in housing, waste management or job creation.

Also present at the meeting this morning was the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and The Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure, the High Commissioner of India in Seychelles, Dr Ausaf Sayeed, and Director General for International Relations at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Lindy Ernesta.
