The President of the Republic, Mr Danny Faure hosted a reception at State House yesterday evening, in honour of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Right. Honourable. Patricia Scotland.
During the reception President Faure formally welcomed Rt. Hon. Scotland as the Guest of Honour for the celebrations of the 42ndanniversary of Seychelles’ Independence.
Addressing the guests present, On behalf of the people and Government of Seychelles thanked the Commonwealth for their active continuous engagement in Seychelles’ national development.
“Your presence here this week is a true reflection of the strong and fruitful working relationship between Seychelles and the Commonwealth, one that is characterised by generous technical assistance and capacity building in various fields ranging from the blue economy, the promotion of democracy, and youth empowerment.
Our cooperation rests on our shared values and principles of a world that is mutually respectful, resilient, peaceful and prosperous” said President Faure
Present at State House for the reception was the, the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Francis Macgregor, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Mathilda Twomey, the Designated Minister, Mrs Macsuzy Mondon, the Leader of Government Business in the National Assembly, Honourable Charles Decommarmond, Ministers, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Ahmed Afif, Members of the National Assembly, members of the Diplomatic Corps and other distinguished guests.
