New Delhi, India, 25th June 2018: The Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu call on the President Danny Faure at the Oberoi hotel.
The Vice President of India who plays the dual responsibility of assisting the President and presiding over the Upper House, praised Seychelles for its high level development and for its functioning democracy.
He noted that India could learn from Seychelles’ experience in the blue economy whilst India could contribute in green technology, space, cyber security, agriculture and industry, amongst other areas.
President Faure observed that Seychelles could learn from India as the world’s largest democracy and took the opportunity of the presence of the Clerk of the Seychelles National Assembly to invite the Vice President to consider extending to the National Assembly of Seychelles training, development and exchange of best practices in areas to be priorities by the National Assembly.
Speaking to the President Faure after the meeting, Clerk Jutta Alexis expressed her appreciation to the President for having put forward the needs of National Assembly.
