The new Ambassador of Turkey to Seychelles, H.E Ambassador Ahmed Cemil Miroğlu, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr Danny Faure, in an Accreditation Ceremony held at State House this morning.
President Faure extended a warm welcome to H.E. Ambassador Miroğlu and congratulated him on his accreditation as the new Ambassador of Turkey to Seychelles. During discussions, President Faure highlighted that Seychelles and Turkey share a remarkable friendship since the establishment of diplomatic ties on 22 June 1995, continuously strengthened through the active engagements and collaborative efforts across different areas of mutual interest.
The President highlighted areas where Seychelles can continue partnering with Turkey to further benefit the two countries, such as the tourism and fisheries sectors. President Faure also discussed the success of air connectivity through Turkish Airlines and the potential to further enhance cooperation in trade and investment through the exportation of local products such as tuna from Seychelles to Turkey.
The Ambassador also briefed the President on the Turkish business delegation currently in Seychelles to facilitate and enhance relations between Seychellois and Turkish business organisations.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Ambassador Miroğlu further emphasised the excellent bilateral relations between Seychelles and Turkey and the progress made over the years. He affirmed that with his accreditation and through the discussions held during his visit, he will ensure that cooperation is strengthened in the areas discussed.
Ambassador Miroğlu was accompanied to State House by Turkish Captain of the Navy and Armed Forces to the Republic of Turkey, Mr Mehmet Teker.
