Following the approval by the National Assembly of the amendments to the Public Holiday Act on Tuesday 11th April, President Danny Faure assented to the Act on the same day, giving the amendments immediate legal effect.  The amendments were gazetted on Wednesday 12th April, and makes Easter Monday a public holiday from 2017.
