The Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic of Greece to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Konstantinos Moatsos, presented his credentials to President James Michel at State House this morning.
President Michel and Ambassador Moatsos discussed how Seychelles and Greece can improve their existing relations, particularly in the fields of the Blue Economy, tourism, education, among others.
Speaking to the national media after the ceremony, Ambassador Moatsos said that he is looking forward in expanding the relations between Seychelles and Greece.
"Two areas of cooperation that have interests for both countries are the maritime economy, which you called the Blue Economy, and tourism. We also have longstanding traditional cooperation in giving scholarships to military officers from the Seychelles and this will continue. I am really looking forward to expand these two areas of cooperation,” said Ambassador Moatsos.
Ambassador Konstantinos Moatsos is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Also present during the meeting were the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport, Joel Morgan, the President's Diplomatic Adviser, Ambassador Callixte d'Offay and the Honorary Consul for Greece in Seychelles, Mr. Tasos Pantazopoulos.
