The fourth Ambassador of Hungary to Seychelles, H.E. László Eduárd Máthé, presented his credentials to President James Michel at State House today. He was accompanied by the Seychelles Honorary Consul based in Hungary, Mr. Laszlo Kiss.
President Michel congratulated him and together they spoke about how they can enhance bilateral cooperation between Seychelles and Hungary in the fields of education, as well as medicine, sports and capacity building in various areas.
Ambassador Máthé told the national media that he intends to further the cooperation between the two countries particularly in the education sector. He also noted the possibilities for exchanges in sports.
"The Hungarian higher education system already hosted a number of students from the Seychelles who have successfully completed their studies and have come back and had become very valuable members of the Seychelles economy....Sports diplomacy is something that connects people, regardless of their background, most people like to sit down and watch a game sometimes. Hungary has a lot of expertise in sports education, we are among the countries that constantly gained a lot of gold medals at the Olympics in various fields. We are very happy and ready to offer our traditions and our knowledge," said Ambassador Máthé.
Ambassador László Eduárd Máthé is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Also present during the meeting were the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport, Mr. Joel Morgan and the President's Diplomatic Adviser, Ambassador Callixte D'Offay.
