November 8, 2010 -- President James Michel on Friday attended a ceremony for graduates who completed their studies in 2009 and this year, both locally and from various universities overseas.
The event was organized by the National Human Resources Development Council (NHRDC) and took place at the University of Seychelles' School of Education, Mont Fleuri.
There were 202 graduates on the list of cohorts who have completed their studies in 2009 and 2010.
One of the main problems the NHRDC says it faced in the past was that students going for overseas training -- especially to Australia and New Zealand -- did not always come back after completing their courses.
"It is very heartening and worthy of note that in 2009 and 2010 there has been a considerable reduction in the number of graduates who have not returned upon completion of their overseas training," said the Mrs Macsuzy Mondon, the Minister for Education, Employment and Human Resources.
