October 12, 2010 -- Mrs Natalie Michel, the wife of the President, is attending the First Ladies Summit 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malasysia.
The theme of the October 11-13 summit is "A Child Today, A Leader Tomorrow". It is aimed at launching a global initiative to empower children to lead change. It focuses attention on ways in which families, communities and governments can work together to uncover the potential in every child.
Mrs Michel is accompanied to the summit by the principal secretary for Social Development, Mrs Linda William, and the chief executive officer of the Children's Homes Foundation, Mrs Noella Gontier.
Before the summit there was a meeting of senior ministers and top government officials on leadership and development. Social Development and Culture Minister Bernard Shamlaye represented Seychelles at the meeting.Â
